Diathlasis Vocal Ensemble was founded in 2020 by conductor and voice improviser Konstantina Samakovli and vocalist/voice instructor & coach Panayotis Terzakis. Began by exploring traditional melodies in an improvised manner and moved on to graphic and verbal scores by contemporary composers. The ensemble’s goal is to showcase the diverse timbres and textures of the human voice, as well as to explore vocal counterpoint and polyphony. D.E. has given a premiere to the works of Fani Kosona, Dmitri Papavasileiou, George Peristeris, Alexis Porfiriadis and Carl Bergstroem-Nielsen.
