A classically trained vocalist (bass) he holds a B.A. in Music from the American College of Greece (Deree College), and a Diploma in Classical Singing from Attikon Odeion (a student of Dimitris Dion-Aryvas and Maria Skarlatou). He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and attended The Longy School of Music in Cambridge (Boston, USA), from which he obtained a Master\u2019s degree in Vocal Performance, studying with Robert Honeysucker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">Known for his versatility, he is a singer and performer distinguished by his talent to navigate diverse musical styles while maintaining the suitable approach and character. A classically trained vocalist, he has had the opportunity to perform in operas and opera galas, oratorios, and lieder recitals. However, he truly discovered his unique artistic voice by incorporating non-classical songs into his repertoire, including jazz standards, chansons, Greek folk ballads, and Afro-American spirituals, along with experimental music and new compositions. As an interpreter, he honors the origins of each piece and transforms his life experiences into his music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">He has performed in Greek, English, Italian, German, Spanish, French, Russian, Czech, and Japanese in Europe, US and China in theatrical and musical productions and has given solo recitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">Recognized for his affection and respect for the music of his country, he has enjoyed great success in giving recitals of Greek music and poetry. Among many stand \u201cMy Hellenic Soul\u201d (2004;) \u201cImmortality- Greek Songs with the poetry of Nikos Gatsos\u201d which was hosted by the American Repertory Theater. (A.R.T. \u2013 2006); \u201cGraecia Magna\u201d Tour I,II &amp; III (2005-8); \u201cFar Away Land\u201d (20 In June 2010, he performed as the lead vocalist for &#8220;The Echo of Living Myth,&#8221; a presentation by the Dance Theater Company &#8220;Roes,&#8221; which combined dance, music, and dramatic elements with references to ancient texts at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">In 2005 he co-founded <strong>\u201cEnsemble Trident\u201d <\/strong>which dealt mainly with Byzantine Hymns and Greek traditional songs in programs that have his signature concerning the vocal arrangements and direction; they toured in several U.S. and also participated in the highly acknowledged \u201cSociety for Historically Informed Performance\u201d Festival&nbsp;&nbsp; -till 2008 that the project was completed-, and have been accepted by the audiences with great enthusiasm. Moreover, Greek Orthodox Churches in The New England area opened, for the first time in their history, their doors to host this special project that toured successfully for three years honoring Panayotis Terzakis\u2019 efforts in the best way. Since then Panayotis is touring a soloist&nbsp; bringing Hellenic projects to the audiences outside of Greece in order for them to be introduced to the richness and diversity of the Greek musical world and poetry. His highly acclaimed first album<strong> \u201cFar Away Land- songs from Greece\u201d<\/strong> (PT9969- September 01, 2009) was a result of these appearances. Besides the Greek repertoire, appearances in the US also include recitals and productions of Gospel &amp; Spirituals, Art Songs, Opera &amp; Classical Repertoire in venues such as The Jarvis Theater in Napa, CA; the Sol Fest Opera in Key West, FL, 2004 &amp; 2007; The Pickman Hall in Boston; T. Eliot Library (Harvard University); M.I.T. Panayotis has had the chance to have appeared and to collaborate with great artists in more than 20 different nominations in churches and recitals featuring Gospel and Spirituals in several States. This taste of the US culture and transmission of Light and Hope of this music he wants to share with people all around the world. <strong>\u201cHymns And Spitituals\u201d, \u201cAcross The Water\u201d, \u201cSome Enchanted Evening\u201d, \u201cIt\u2019s Me O Lord!\u201d <\/strong>are the titles of some of the projects he has presented in Greece so far. Appearances in Greece include recitals in Herakleidon Museum-Experience in Visual Art, Pierce Theater, Eilissos-Pocket Theater, Athena Live, Caf\u00e9 Alavastron, The Vouleftikon at Nafplion, Megaron Moussikis, Onassis Cultural Center among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">In 2009 he was the lead singer in the Sound and Light project \u201cSkyros- the island and its history\u201d; a project with original music by Victor. In June 2011 he presented two unique recitals with the American mezzo soprano Monifa Harris that took place in Athens and Nafplion, Greece, which blended arias, musical theater, spirituals with Greek Folk music. The recitals got acclaimed critics by the press and a warm response from the audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">In 2012 he released&nbsp; an avant-Americana fusion EP&nbsp; that combines folk, rock, rhythm and blues and country elements under the title <strong>\u201cFree\u201d<\/strong>; including his first published composition and three covers of songs by J.Denver, S.Cooke and T.Reznor. The album reached No.7 in i-Tunes new age charts in March of 2012 and still remains a major hit in digital streams.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/panayotisterzakis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/5D3R1041-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-48\" style=\"width:625px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/panayotisterzakis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/5D3R1041-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/panayotisterzakis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/5D3R1041-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/panayotisterzakis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/5D3R1041-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/panayotisterzakis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/5D3R1041.jpg 1350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">Moreover he exclusively collaborated @XorosTexnisAsomaton in order to present three projects: <strong>\u201cIt\u2019s Me O Lord\u201d <\/strong>(an Easter theme recital with byzantine hymns, German lieder, American art songs and spirituals); <strong>\u201cSongs of Collective Memory\u201d <\/strong>(a recital with songs of Mikis Theodorakis arranged by composer Tasos Karakatsanis-Theodorakis\u2019 collaborator\u2013 especially for Panayotis\u2019 voice); and <strong>\u201cBlack Swallow\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\"><strong>\u201cBlack Swallow\u201d (\u201cMauro Mou Chelidoni\u201d)<\/strong> an ongoing project has been Panayotis\u2019 long time research upon the Afro-American and native American culture as well of the Greek one. It combines folktales from both Greece and the US with traditional songs from both countries (mainly gospel and spirituals and Greek \u201cdemotika\u201d) which blend thematically and harmonically. Evi Gerokosta, a story teller, is the main narrator. The project has been presented in various versions all over Greece. In the summer of 2014 Panayotis and Evi presented <strong>\u201cBlack Swallow\u201d<\/strong> outdoors; in forests, by the sea, in outdoor venues on the islands of the Aegean.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"647\" height=\"434\" src=\"https:\/\/panayotisterzakis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Afisa-Rematia-2023_B.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1230\" style=\"width:423px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/panayotisterzakis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Afisa-Rematia-2023_B.jpg 647w, https:\/\/panayotisterzakis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Afisa-Rematia-2023_B-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 647px) 100vw, 647px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">In 2012-13 season Greek actor Christos Syriotis played his self-written monologue<strong> \u201cTi koitate,re?\u201d (What are you looking at?) <\/strong>where Panayotis sang the main songs composed by Tasos Karakatsanis. In 2013-14 he composed original music for Prova Theater production <strong>\u201cBrainwash\u201d <\/strong>by John Wainwright that premiered for the first time in Greece under the direction of Sotiris Tsogkas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">Moreover in January 2014 he participated as a bass soloist in <strong>\u201cthe Mauricio Kagel Open Day\u201d <\/strong>of the Onassis Cultural Center of Athens (Stegi Grammaton kai Technon) singing and playing in an all-day- project with Kagel\u2019s most distinctive plays under the tutoring and direction of musicologist Anargyros Deniosos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">In April 2014 he appeared in GazArte, one of the most prolific modern music venues of Technopolis, Athens and sang together with classical singers Katia Paschou and Marisia Papalexiou a program named <strong>\u201cFrom Opera to Byzantium\u201d<\/strong> based on Easter themes from the classical and byzantine repertoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">In June till August he toured with \u201cBlack Swallow\u201d and after his tour he gave a personal recital (\u201cA Voice Travels\u201d) with songs in five languages (tangos, chansons, art songs, traditional) in Plakentias\u2019 Megaron in Pendeli. This recital was a big success . On December 2nd he performed a recital with songs of Manos Hadjidakis in \u201cParnassos\u201d Auditorium in Athens <strong>(Passport Pages) <\/strong>with T. Kotepanos on the piano. More appearances followed in major theatrical stages of Athens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">In 2014-16 Offenbach\u2019s<strong> \u201cLa Belle Helene\u201d<\/strong>; a comic operetta in Greek under the direction of P. Adam (Olvio Wonderworld Theater production) which toured all over Greece and became an \u201calternative classical smash hit\u201d as the press described it!&nbsp; In 2015-16 more recitals and appearances followed in several venues and festivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">In June 2016, a CD of the highly acclaimed composer and arranger Tasos Karakatsanis has been released where Panayotis sings new songs upon the poetry of Noni Stamatelou <strong>&#8220;Noni&#8217;s Ballads&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">In 2016-17 season he held one of the lead roles in M. Grammatikaki\u2019s and G. Peristeris\u2019 play \u201c<strong>The Beggar and the Golden Keyhole\u201d <\/strong>\u2013 an Olvio Wonderworld production directed by Lena Georgiadou. (conducted by Theodoros Orfanidis).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">2022 summer appearances were limited into two performances in Greece with <strong>\u201cThe Free Besieged\u201d<\/strong> and a project of Tasos Karakatsanis in Ancient Messini. A new album of the composer followed where Panayotis participates with three songs. Moreover, Panayotis performed the famous poem of Edgar Allan Poe <strong>&#8220;The Raven&#8221;<\/strong> set into music by Dimitris Kogiannis (Mikros Iros Publications).<strong> &#8220;Unfulfilled Love Stories&#8221;<\/strong>, a very personal and unique project that included ballads and jazz tunes of greek composers was presented in December 2023 in Athens, accompanied by Alexandros Manatos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\">2024 was a very fruitful year! Panayotis performed in several festivals in the Athens area presenting two unique projects that initiated new collaborations and a new music sound. <strong>&#8220;The Baryon Project&#8221; <\/strong>with Joe Tornabene and appearances with The Diathlasis Vocal Ensemble.
